Backend & API

Scalable infrastructure with Supabase, PostgreSQL and Node. Authorisation is built at the database level.

START WITH WHAT YOU NEED

For products with multiple clients, businesses needing management tools and integrations, and teams improving an existing backend.

We develop the data model, authorization, APIs and background jobs behind mobile and web products. The server should uphold the promises made by the interface.

Data ownership and access boundaries.

We define which roles can read and change each record. Business rules are enforced beyond the interface, in API and data layers. Integration access follows the same model.

Repeated requests need deliberate handling.

Payment events and long-running jobs can repeat. As with credit refunds in Viralance, we consider state and the consequences of applying an operation twice. Monitoring, backup and recovery requirements are scoped explicitly.

For projects in the US, UK, Australia and beyond, we agree meeting times together. Requirements, working builds and delivery scope are shared in writing. Larger engagements can include dedicated designers and engineers.

Can you migrate existing data?

We review the source schema, data quality and downtime constraints. A rehearsal, validation and rollback plan belong in migration scope.

What scale will it support?

Targets are based on expected concurrency, data volume and critical operations. Capacity claims require appropriate load testing.
