A real need. A considered solution.
Challenge
Hunters want to share trail-cam observations but not give away their own spots. A platform that shares raw coordinates gets abandoned in the first week.
Approach
Location is never kept raw. Observations are snapped onto a PostGIS and H3 hexagon grid and insight is produced at cell level. Users see daylight activity, weather and moon-phase correlations without anyone’s exact spot.
Result
The web platform and the mobile app share one data model, with authorisation enforced at the database level through row-level security.
